Alexander McMeeking MD has been treating infectious diseases for over 20 years. He graduated from New Jersey College of Medicine in 1982, and completed his residency at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt’s Hospital Center of Manhattan in 1985. Following his residency, he accomplished a Fellowship Training in Infectious Diseases at NYU Medical Center/Belleview Hospital between 1985 and 1987.
Now Dr. McMeeking owns his own private practice in NYC, where he is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU school of Medicine and an Attending Physician at NYU Medical Center. Besides working from his own office, he regularly consults with other physicians on patients with complicated infections.
While he treats all infectious diseases, Dr. McMeeking specializes in HIV, Viral Hepatitis, Herpes, MRSA, and Travel Medicine. He also does clinical research in new therapies for HIV and Hepatitis C. Because he is involved in cutting edge research, his patients can expect the latest and most effective treatments.
Dr. McMeeking’s office provides quick and flexible appointments. The wait is rarely longer than three days for any patient, and his staff tries to accommodate emergency patients on the same day.
